Duck, Duck, Goose to the Extreme

I wish everyone could have been witnesses to the extreme game of Duck, Duck, Goose that took place in our neighborhood today. Wonder Friend was here hanging out with us and the girls were next door playing with the neighbors. We were watching as they played a sweet game of Duck, Duck, Goose. Evidently, the youngest is slightly unfamiliar with the ins and outs of this complicated game. She was tagged as the goose and the kid TOOK OFF! There were 3 little girls playing (her included) but she was "it" she ran at least 120 feet DOWN THE STREET! The girls were squealing, "Look at her go!!!!!!!!!" Wonder Friend and I were laughing our heads off. It was just way too cute!
The girls had Awana's tonight. We love the program here. They really do it right. Tonight was "VIP" night. The kids brought their parents or friends or family. Then there was a little ceremony for the kids. Each child had their name called and everyone clapped and cheered as the kids received their patches or vests. They were taking photos and recording it. It is so cute! There are only about 20 kids total in the program and the volunteers celebrate each verse learned. It is the perfect place for our girls. They praise the girls each week for their non-verbal skills. It may sound cheesy, but it really warms our hearts. The oldest has even made a special friend (a mommy volunteer) who brought her a Cinderella Barbie tonight! So sweet!
During Awana my hubby and I enjoyed a 50% off meal from Hardee's. Our local place has 50% after 4 for military. Well, we waited at least 10 minutes for our $6 meal, so they gave us our food, a refund and two cookies!! We were happy with that and pleased with friendly employees and good, hot food! Yea for Hardee's! (Even if I do HATE their commercials)

How sweet!

Are the girls able to quote their verses to the leaders? Or is it too hard for them to talk?

Oh no. We have permission to sign as the leaders. So they say their verses to us at home. Another reason why we love this little church!

Haha, I think extreme duck duck goose should become a new game! I was actually going to go to Hardees last night since Seth had his unaccompanied social, but he had to take the car to be the designated driver and I can't drive his truck so I ordered Chinese. I have to tell you later about their 3rd DUI incident of the class! It is by far the craziest!!!
