YEA!

He called!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Need I even say more?????
He is doing good, but is a little down in the dumps. He said it is crazy. They RUN everywhere and are basically not ever allowed to walk. He is exhausted and stressed but still feels he is where he is supposed to be. He cannot wait for us to get there and neither can we!!!

Passing the time

Today has gone by super quick! I had a great workout this morning and did some packing. The girls were a little edgy today though. I rented a storage unit today and have truck lined up. It's coming along!!!
Tonight to pass the time we are watching the movie "Enchanted". Cute! We are having some good laughs!

Day 1

My husband's class officially started this morning. I can only imagine what he is doing today. Actually, he told me they were getting up at 5, reporting at 5:30, formation, chow and then a weigh in. After that they said to expect paperwork. I don't think they had PT today but tomorrow morning they have a pft again. He said if people don't mess up, he should be able to call home most evenings for a few minutes at least.
I slept really fitful last night due to nerves. But this morning I am just excited. The girls are doing good too. We are getting ready to head to the gym for some much needed exercise!

Trying

Really, other than 1 bad day I have been ok while my husband has been at OCS. However, I am so scared today. I guess it's because it begins "for real" in the morning. 4 a.m. to be exact. I miss my husband more than I have ever missed anything. I love him more than anything. I am so ready to make the move to be closer. We will really need your prayers as we will not be able to talk for the next 5-????? days. During that time our youngest is being tested for a rare type of diabetes, I am packing our house, getting passports and the list goes on till infinity!!!!
It did not help that the girls woke up crying for their daddy. They miss him and if he is able to call it will be when they are sleeping. All day they have been talking about him. They are so scared that if we move he can't find us. =(
Tomorrow is a new day and hopefully I can regain my peace.

Changes

I have been talking to my husband and he wants us to go ahead and come down to where he is in 3 weeks!! We are SO planning to do it! If all goes according to plan we will move to near him on April 18th (or so)! I am so excited! No, we may not talk to him anymore than we do now, but we will be able to see him whenever he is available, I can pick up his laundry and dry cleaning, store his extras and we can invite his new friends over to cook for them and get to know them as well. I cannot wait!!!
This past weekend, we went to my aunt and uncle's cabin. It was beautiful! The girls and I went "swimming" in the hot tub! They thought it was divine!
Keep checking our blog for the latest in our crazy lives!!!

Little Mermaid?????

My friend and I were at the gym today. She is helping me with my goal of dropping another dress size by the time of the OCS formal. She has her own goals too. Well, she had this sheet of ab exercises for us to try. We were laying down on these mats attempting to copy the moves and I looked at her and thought, "Good gravy, she looks like a mermaid!" All of a sudden, she said, "I feel like a mermaid!" We were rolling and laughing and I am quite sure we looked like two loons, oh excuse, two mermaids! Maybe you just had to be there, but it was HILARIOUS!

For Daddy!!!

Trip to see a T-Rex!!!!

Today was really fun and tiring too! I met some lady friends and we took our kids to a museum (let me add all the kids were ages 2-4)! Then we ate at a McDonald's and let the kids run wild! We all had a real nice time. I thought, as far as education, that the day was a waste until we got home. I took the girls outside and they had their shovel. They went into their box and started digging in. I asked what they were doing and they informed me that this was dig site and they were finding dinosaur bones! They said, "We need sand, water and shovels so that we can find the fossils and bones hiding in here." Then the youngest sifted dirt through her fingers and was singing, "Daddy/daughter sand." (Hubby you know where she got that don't you? Your daddy/daughter dance!!!) Then we were swinging and the oldest said, "This is fun!" The youngest said, "This makes me happy! I miss Daddy a little less when I swing like this." Several times today they would just say they were thinking of him etc. So sweet!
Here is our latest prayer request... we are planning to go see him on April 11th and we want him to be available OBVIOUSLY!! So there you go!!!!

Scaredy cat

We are rolling around in our living room laughing our heads off right now! Our cat who can stand up to thirty kids running around, getting her feet stepped on, tail pulled ad ears stretched is TERRIFIED of my dad's singing voice!!! We noticed today that he started singing and she bolted out of the room!!! It started a chain of events where she'd come back in and he'd sing opera and she'd bolt! I know it sounds mean, but when your husband is away you need a reason to laugh!
Then we were all sitting here doing this crazy internet thing. Take your right foot and put it on the ground. Start rotating it CLOCKWISE. Got it? Ok, so keep doing that and take your RIGHT hand and make a figure 6. HA! Your foot switched directions didn't it. We must have done it a thousand times and we were all looking loony!
I got to talk to my husband TWICE today! He sounded good and updated his blog too!
We have had a positive day here. I have a brand new appreciation for my husband as I am single handedly packing our house. Ugh. Make me miss him all the more!
The girls are asking a lot more questions about him and just talking about "daddy likes this etc."
They got lots of outdoor play time today! That was fun! More tomorrow!!!!

Forgot to add to last nights blog

Our oldest asked me if I was still sad over daddy being gone. She then asked what I would do when I saw him again. I said, "Well, I guess I'll scream his name and run to him as quick as I can." She says, "I will yell Daddyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy and run and hold him and never let that man go. I miss him Mommy. Can he come home and see me now?"
Then the youngest started kissing the phone when he called last night.
Kids are sweet. I had a rough night last night. Bummer. Hopefully today will be better!

Poor Gampy

If you are at all familiar with the quirks of our eldest, this will keep you laughing for HOURS! She likes routine and does NOT like it to be messed with! Well, my dad came upstairs this morning while she was waiting for PBS to start their kids programming. Before the kids shows, there is a Christian lady who leads an aerobic class. My dad sat beside her. She kept her eyes glued to the t.v. and said, "Well she's almost done. If you keep sitting here she'll tell you what they did and why." But what made it SOOOO funny, was that she NEVER looked at him, had no inflection in her voice and was obviously irritated that he "messed" with her routine! Then tonight at dinner, my dad cooked for all of us (frozen lasagna) =). He also "made" breadsticks (pillsbury) =) and a salad (Kroger's bar) =). I was telling them what I do with crescent rolls for my husband and the girls. When the four year old says, "HEY! I have an idea! Mommy, why don't YOU cook next time. Gampy's isn't very good and yours is a lot better!!" I was rolling!!!!
Kids are awesome!!!
I know this will so embarrass my hubby (SORRY!!!) but I just have to list one benefit of missing him so much. I feel like we just met again and I feel SO in love with him! I want to tell everyone about him about how proud we are of him, how much I love him, how he takes such good care of us and how he is such a great husband and friend to me!!! I could just shout that all day!! I love him SOO much!
Hey! He got to propose to me in a VERY public way, so now I get to declare my love for him in my blog!!!!!
=)

Almost one week down

Tonight I made the girls homemade mac-n-cheese. We use Whole Wheat pasta and freshly grated cheese YUM! The oldest said, "This is SO good! Much better than restaurant food. When I eat this I feel like it's my whole world!" So cute! Then we were talking and they were asking what I missed most about having daddy around. I said, "well I miss just having him here all the time and I miss being able to hug him whenever I want." The oldest said, "I miss going to parks with him because he teaches me all kinds of things like how to go like this on monkey bars, do pull ups and zip lines." The youngest said, "I miss daddy playing "pretty, pretty princess with us and I miss the way he tickles me." Such sweet little girls!!
I got to talk to my husband and he sounded really good. I still miss him like crazy but we are staying busy here!

Fun Day

We took the girls to a track and took their ride on toys. It was COLD and windy but they had a blast! Our four year old did a mile and the three year old probably 3/4 of a mile!! We had a super time, just missing my hubby.
Specific prayer request.... we are now hearing that his company is very harsh and that we may not see him for more than 2 months and may not be able to talk to him till 1 month or longer. I am trying SO hard not to panic. Please pray that this is false and obviously that we are in contact and able to see him MUCH sooner. Thanks!

Happy Easter Hubby!!

Easter has been AWESOME so far!!!! I have had not 1 but 2 calls from my husband and several text messages!!! We all went out to a yummy lunch, the girls were really well behaved and now I think they are both asleep! Last night I slept all night long for the first time since my husband has been gone. He also sounds more upbeat and said he is really starting to adjust and remember what he learned from the Marines.
Daddy - The girls say Happy Easter and they LOVE the shirts you got them. They posed for these pictures and cannot wait for you to see them. Also, the oldest is working really hard to make an Easter picture for you.
Last night we all watched "High School Musical II" It was cute. Had some fun songs in it. We have rented some girly movies to watch tonight and tomorrow.
Happy Easter everyone!!!!

What is better than winning the lottery??????

Actually, tonight in our house 2 things!!
First, MY HUSBAND CALLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!! I feel hungry for the first time in a week! I ate a real meal and feel HAPPY! Go figure!
Second, the youngest has a small blanket (male) named "Winky" sometimes affectionately referred to as "The Winkster". Well, since a few days BEFORE my hubby left, Winky was MIA. I have turned the house inside out looking for him. Tonight after bath (and post happy phone call) they decided they wanted to dry their hair in my room. The youngest found one of her rain boots in out closet. All of a sudden she is screaming and almost crying, "MOMMY!! IT"S CRACKED WINKY!!!!!!!" Oh the joy!! We took photos of the happy reunion and the cell phone. We were all so happy!!!!!!!! I feel good!!!!!!
I still miss my other half like CRAZY, but I feel good AND it is after 6 p.m.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Easter Eggs coloring and hunting

OK. To those of who are NOT my husband, I apologize about all these photos. But this is an easy way to let him see what is going on here and it doesn't eat up his internet thing. I am not sure what it is called, but it's like a mini portable access thingy.
Here are some photos of us coloring eggs and to those who wanted to see ME, I have 1 picture of me hugging the girls while we wait for the Egg Hunt to start!!!
Enjoy!

Scripture

This was sent to me by a friend and it was exactly the kind of reminder I needed.

Wait on the Lord. Psalm 27:14
"I am thy sheild. Have no fear. You must know that
"All is well." I will
never let anyone do to you both, other than My Will
for you.
I can see the future. I can read men's hearts. I
know better than you
what you need. Trust me absolutely. You are not at
the mercy of Fate, or
buffeted about by others. You are being led in a
very definite way, and
others, who do not serve your purpose, are being
moved out of your Path
by Me.
Never fear, whatever may happen. You are both being
led. Do not try to
plan. I have planned. You are the builder, not the
Architect.
Go very quietly, very gently. All is for the very
best for you.
Trust me for all. Your very extremity will ensure My
activity for you.
And having your foundation on the Rock--Christ,
Faith in Him, and "being
rooted and grounded in Him," and having belief in My
Divinity as your
Corner Stone, it is yours to build, knowing all is
well.
Literally, you have to depend on Me for
everything--everything. It was
out of the depths that David cried unto Me, and I heard his voice. All
is well."

That really inspired me and spoke to me. I have also started reading the book my husband bought me before he left called "Hope for the Homefront". It is awesome so far! It helped me feel encouraged last night. I still did not sleep hardly a wink, but I felt better! That has to count for something!

Thanks to everyone who has been praying. Please keep it up!

Crying jag

I am an emotional wreck right now. This is the longest I have NOT spoken to my husband in 8 years. He said it is really hard there right now. He had like 2 minutes to send me a very short email and update his blog. In his email he said it is really dark and hard. He needs prayers and strength. He misses us as much as we miss him, which means that STINKS! I do feel thankful because I realize how much I love and appreciate him even more!! BUT I miss him like crazy. Honestly I cannot wait to be out of this house so that not everything looks like him. Last night as I was surrounding myself pillows I caught his scent and lost it. He is a great man.

Nerves

Today was fun with the girls. We went to our gymnastics play date like usual. Then hit the McDonalds for our usual Friday treat. All this time I am expecting our phone to ring, only to learn that really and truly they may not let him online or on his phone until______________? We don't know. I am literally sick over this. I fully expected we'd be able to talk or at least text during holding. I am very.... sad, for lack of a better word. Thankfully, the girls are being great and don't seem to sense anything out of the ordinary. They did say that they think daddy is missing them and that he wants to play "Pretty, Pretty Princess" with them the next time he sees them. They think it's exciting that he is "on base", but they obviously have no idea what this means. Tonight we are going to color Easter eggs. I tell you though, having my husband gone I realize how much I love him and how much he does for me and the girls. Maybe for Easter I will get a long call from him. Here's hoping.

24 hours under our belts

Like the title says, we now have 24 hours under our belts! That is a relief. I just hope we both sleep better tonight. Once I was asleep I was ok, but I had to have a pillow next to me. I really miss my husband! The girls are really fine. They ask about him a lot. The oldest said this morning that Daddy was supposed to be snuggling with her during her morning show. The youngest wondered if he was eating with us. They both want to make easter eggs and mail them to Daddy. He made them a cd (see yesterdays posts) and the youngest and I were listening to it today as we drove around (windows down). He put some crazy sounding chipmunk song sung ENTIRELY in Spanish on the cd. The little one leans close to the window and screams, "PRAISE THE LOOOORRRRDDDD!" I love that they can make me laugh even when he is gone.
We had a jewelry party at our house tonight. I had thought about canceling and am very glad I didn't. It was fun and distracting. PLUS, I bought the items I need to wear to my husbands FORMAL the night before he'll graduate Officer's School!!!!

Girls dancing

My husband made a cd for the girls and we had no idea what was on it. It was some mushy songs and I was feeling VERY emotional. The three year old said, "I'm thinking of Daddy because this is our song and I remember when he took us to the beach and played in the sand with me." Then a song came on about brushing your teeth. It was a rap song for kids and VERY funny! The youngest said "This doesn't sound like princess music. I'm going to dance like this...."

He's gone

Well, the moment has come and gone. Honestly, it was both worse and better than I expected. He actually did worse than I thought he would. We woke up and he cried most all morning. For me, it was crazy things. I lost it when I poured his last cup of coffee and then after my shower when I saw some of the "shaved pieces" of his hair in the sink. When he got out of the van and I came to hug him, MAN, it was awful! I got back in the van, laid on the wheel and bawled like a baby. I was gagging (thank goodness we could not eat breakfast!). Our poor girls were in their car seats saying, "Mommy, we'll take you on a date, please stop crying, you can have my doll, if you stop crying you can have a reward chart." etc. Of course that was making it worse. I started driving and had to stop because I could not see. Someone had told me to MAKE plans for right after. I took the girls and we went to the beauty school. We all got haircuts and I let them have Burger King for lunch. I got home and put them down and realized that I was hungry for the first time! I have seriously lost 4 pounds in the past week. Now that the moment is over, I feel ok. I keep choking up, but I am fortunate to have the girls to keep me going and my family here to talk to.
I think we can make it though. I am trying to focus on the excitement and benefits of the military lifestyle. Please keep us in your prayers!

Daddy's last day

I just keep thinking that if I could hold his hand a little tighter, then tomorrow will not come.
We had a great day together. Took the girls on a hike and let them splash in a lake. Here are some photos of Daddy's last special day with us for awhile.

waiting....

Today we feel like the people waiting for the executioner to come. I wish my husband was leaving today. Not because I want him to be gone, but because this waiting is SO hard. I feel physically ill. So does he. I think we have both cried already today. Later we are taking the girls to a cool hiking place and have some fun and fresh air. The girls are at their absolute sweetest today, which is making it all the harder on him =D.
I am sure we will be updating both our blogs soon. Keep watching and praying!

Bike Rally/Fun with Daddy

Motorcycle

Our oldest daughter has been saving her allowance and birthday money since she turned 3. About 1 year ago she told us that she wanted to save it to buy an electric ride on toy. I was shopping for a baby shower present last week when I saw a Groovy Girls motorcycle an sale for $144. We counted her money and our little 4 year old had it! Yesterday we took her down and it took every penny, but she had it! Now she is proud owner of a very cute little motorcycle!! We are taking them out today to ride it around.
OF course, our 3 year old wanted to spend her money too and she spent every penny on a HUGE stuffed bunny. It is pink, a BOY and she named him "Ballerina".
They are both SO excited! I was so proud of the oldest, but I feel bad about how long it will take to save for her again. I am just praying that it was a good lesson and that she can (both of them really) get an early understanding of money.

Nap time

Today I was feeling drowsy and decided to lay down on the couch. The girls were playing with pens, but I told them no markers. All of a sudden I hear the 3 year old say, "Hey! Mommy's sleeping! I can get whatever I want now!" I popped my head up and said, "uh, no". Crazy little kid!

Let's get ready to rumble

Last night my dad told us something VERY funny. When we left the girls, to go on our date, they were with just my dad (their Gampy). Evidently we pulled out the drive and Gampy said, "What do you girls want to do?" The older said, "Ewwww, let's play 'Pretty, Pretty Princess'!" The youngest put up her claws and said, "Let's fight!" Gampy about lost it! He said it was so cute and funny!

20/20 & Blessed Day

20/20 had a segment tonight on Selective Mutism. It made me get choked up. It was great and really sounds a lot like our eldest. My husband is now scared that she won't talk to him at the end of his training. Now we all have a new area to pray for. =)
My husband and I had our last date (before OCS) tonight. We ate at Chili's and saw the movie "Vantage Point". It was VERY good! We had a great time!
Today I felt like one of the most blessed people ever. I have worked at a little coffee shop for 3 years. Today was my last day and I thought I'd get a few cards and maybe flowers or something. Boy, was I wrong. I got cards, an address book with all my customers information in there, lotions, an angel plaque, a photo frame, leather journal for my husband, thermos for our daughters with money in them and then a HUGE gift card for Lowe's for my husband and a HUGE collection of money for me. ALL my customers went together and sent the owner shopping. I was blown away. The cards I received are keepsakes and said such touching things in them. I cannot remember the last time I felt so special.

St. Patty's Day

With our girls we do not "do" the whole Santa, Easter Bunny thing etc. But, they are bobmbarded by this in public. Evidently the other day at preschool or somewhere (maybe the gym?) someone TRIED to teach her about leprechauns. LOL! She tells me, "Mommy, did you know there is a man running around somewhere and if you catch him you get to keep his gold? It could be ANY man ANYWHERE! It could be Daddy, or Gampy, or Mr. Paul or Mr. Mike....." How can you NOT laugh about that!

Excitement

Our oldest daughter had preschool today and TWO exciting things happened there today. First, when I dropped her off I was tickling her and she giggled OUT LOUD! Then when I went to go pick her up, her teacher was glowing! She said that our daughter played "Duck, Duck, Goose", which involved pointing and tapping the kids in her class! She did not say anything, but she played! I was SOOOOOO happy!!!

3 Year old hilarity

I know you have read about this in the past, but the three year old was HILARIOUS today!!! She was riding in the van with her sister and said, "Sissy, close your eyes and reach your hand over here." Sister did and she promptly scratches her hand. Sissy says, "MEAN GIRL!" The three year old says, "Do it again." Sissy does it and the younger squeezes her fingers. Now there was some discipline involved here, but seriously, how funny is that?
Then they had stickers while I was in the shower and were warned if stickers were anywhere other than the paper, the stickers would be thrown out. Well, the youngest was awfully quiet and when I looked in on her she said, "Sooorrryy". She had PLASTERED stickers all over her sister's cup.
Tonight her sister turned the tables though. The youngest asked her to come to turn on the bathroom light for her because she can't reach it. The oldest said, "HRRRRHHHHH, ______ this is the last time I am doing things for you. It makes me too tired!"
I think they are great kids and they brought a LOT of laughter to me today, even if I did have to hide it!!

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

Lyrics

Our three year old ROCKS! She is literally a barrel of laughs! Today I am driving her home from our time at the gym and I hear her singing in the back, "OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, Will you PRAAAAIIIIIISSSSEEEEE ME? WIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLL YOU? WILL YOU PRAAAIIIISSSEEEE ME? HUH? WILL YOU? Because I love your heartTTTTTTTTTT! It is my favorite color pink!!!!! You have a great heart!!!!!!!!!! So praise me!!!!!!!! Pink!!!!!!!!! YEa!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
It was great! Just thought I'd share!

Morning Funnies

Total blog moment this morning. We are all sitting getting our morning "fix" of PBS. The youngest runs to go potty. When she comes back she said, "Mommy, when I went to sit on the potty I closed my eyes. Then I peed with my eyes closed and it felt like I was flying!" We were rolling and she had no clue why! What a great way to start any day!!

Feet

Today Nana sat on our couch reading a book to our youngest. She got to a sentence in the book that says something about little mice with dainty feet. Nana said, "Do you have dainty feet?" The little one said, "no". Nana said, "Why?". The youngest thrust her foot in Nana's face and said, "LOOK!" It was so funny! Made even funnier if you could see the size of her feet. They are in the shape of rectangular blocks. She went from a size 3 shoe to about an 8 in literally 4 months maybe? She got all her sisters hand-me-downs, but cost us a fortune trying to find shoes that actually fit her feet. Eventually we bought a pair of crocks and she wore them everywhere because they were the only things that fit her feet without blisters and pain. Luckily her feet have slowed down. She now wears a 10 and she has been that size for close to a year. Her sister now has bigger feet and she wears an 11. Anyways, maybe you just had to be there, but it was so funny!

Moving in

So, my parents and teenage sister moved in with us this past week. So far it has really been fun! We have got to sit around in our pjs and watch American Idol together, they have brought all sorts of yummy food with them and the girls have been on Cloud 9 since they got here. Yesterday my husband's mom and step-dad came down to visit us and they only get here about twice a year. We went to the grocery last night for milk and few other things. On the way back to our house our four year asks her grandma, "Are you spending the night with us? (Big Sigh) Are you LIVING with us???" Seriously she loves having her family live with us, but she is a MAJOR type A! This morning when she woke up, her Gampy had come upstairs and fallen asleep on the couch. Now, if they were spending the night with him, they would have been bouncing on his belly, scarfing down cookies and doughnuts and have 3.2 million little toys scattered around that they ignored. At our house though, they wake up, see him on the couch and the four year old absolutely ignores him because he IS NOT part of her morning routine, which consists of drinking her milk (the equivalent of adult coffee) and watching various toons on PBS. Evidently, as much as she loves her Gampy, he is just to be ignored first thing in the morning. She has now been awake for at least 1 hour and has yet to even look at him! Too funny! The youngest has now covered herself and him with a shimmery princess blanket that her aunt bought her and they are snuggling the morning away!

Looney Toons

Our youngest has pretty much always been fascinated with nature. When she was 2 she asked the name of every tree and shrub we passed. The trend has really continued. She enjoys using my husbands binoculars to look outside for birds etc. We went to a used bookstore one day and found her a book on trees and an Audubon Society book on birds. She likes me to read it to her and talk about the different birds. She is (unfortunately) not good at remembering much of anything we read, BUT she has fun. The other day we were looking at the Common Loon. Today as we were loading into our van she heard a bird outside and YELLED out to entire neighborhood, "Hey! Is that a COMMON LOON??!?!?!!?" I have laughed about that all day long!!!

Relief

After days of craziness, no naps for kids, home remodeling and the list goes on.... the girls had a WONDERFUL day today!!! There were no spankings, fits or really even any sibling fighting. They cleaned up, bathed, ate healthy, had naps/rest and went to be when they were supposed to!! I was even able to push their bedtime BACK because they were being so good! I can't remember the last time they earned extra play time! It was awesome! It makes the days where it feels like you do is discipline, seem very worth it. Now, if my husband would hurry home from his meeting so I can HIM, they day will be complete!!!!!!

Changing clothes

This will probably only be funny to a few people who know our youngest. But we took the oldest to preschool, went to the gym, the grocery and then came home. We were soaking wet from the horrid rain we have been having. I carry in the last load of groceries and see the youngest has a hoodie sweatshirt bunched around her waist. She is grunting and trying to rid herself of this garment. She looks at me and says, "Was this a good idea?" She is just too cute!!!!

Close Your Eyes

I keep forgetting to blog about this. Our oldest daughter came to me crying the other day saying her little sister had hurt her. I asked her what had happened and here is story I got.
"well, everyday ________ tells me to close my eyes. Except when I do, she either hits me, pulls my hair or takes a toy away from me."
I said (the OBVIOUS), "Why do you keep closing your eyes when ___________ tells you to?"
"Because she says to!"
*DUH* =D
I about lost it I was laughing SO hard!! She got very angry and said it was not funny. I still think it is though. We did discipline the younger sister, but man, it was hard! She is so funny and the oldest is funny without meaning to be!!!
Sidebar, the whole close your eyes thing has happened at least twice today, but once the youngest did something nice for her sister!

17 days

Not that I am counting or anything, but it is 17 days until my husband leaves for OCS. I am starting to have trouble sleeping. We spent the whole weekend doing home improvement projects in hopes of a quick sell on our house. Our eldest was sick for a day and we have had lots of other things going on at the same time.
Our bathroom looks a LOT better though! Yea!!! Amazing what you can accomplish when you have 17 days left! I even helped. I laid some stick on tiles for the floor and they actually were straight and look good.
We were able to find a GOOD home for our puppy and have sole everything that we need to sell (minus the house). Hopefully we are all going out to dinner together and enjoy the rest of our night before another week of work.

Size matters

The other day we were getting ready to leave and our oldest says, "Mommy, why are you a small mommy. Most other mommies are big mommies but you are a little Mommy." I told her that was just how God made me, had a laugh with my husband and thought that was the end of it. Then that night we were carrying in groceries or something and she tells her daddy, "You better carry all the heavy things because mommy is just a little mommy and she can't do things like that." I thought, "Ok, this is the end of that." Then I was eating a salad at lunch, "Do you just eat lots of salads because you are a little mommy and that's what little mommies like to eat because they are healthy and salads make you big and strong like other mommies and our daddy?" At this point I am ignoring her and hoping this will stop, but NO! Last night we were getting our bathroom ready for the remodeling today. My husband left to go pick up the new tub and walls and I volunteered to chisel some tiles off while he was gone. The girls were peeling old wall paper and picking up pieces of broken tiles etc. The oldest looks at me and says, "mommy you aren't very good at that because you are a little mommy. Big mommies are better at chiseling than you are." Then I got angry and whacked off a huge chunk of about 6 tiles and she says, "Wow! That's how a big mommy does it!" Then our sweet three year old says, "I think you are good at that mommy." But I was laughing and telling my husband about this last night and said it's awful that OUR 4 year old makes me self-conscious of my 5'2" height!! His advice, "Tell her little mommies girls will grow up to be little mommies too!"
