What is up with coffee?

My husband and I have been trying to save money by buying different brands of coffee. After a horrible weekend of gross coffee we have decided to stay with Folgers Coffee. Yeah, I know we sound like a commercial, but they really ARE the best part of waking up (well first would be seeing each other and our girls but you know what I mean). We tried 2 other brands one Saturday and the other Sunday. Neither one woke us up with their aroma. Neither one of us could finish a cup. So, yesterday we made a trip out and forked out the money for another container of Folgers. And this morning I woke up to smell wafting through our house and we both sighed when we drank it and actually finished our cups. Folgers did not used to be the best. We used to prefer other brands, but those brands have changed and so has Folgers. My only complaint is that it is expensive, but we decided it is more expensive to try these other brands and then not drink them. I just wonder, what is up with coffee that so many companies do not taste the same? Anyone have any idea?

The one nice thing about Folgers is they almost always have coupons for it.

Tell everyone you know who gets the Sunday paper to save them for you!

Hey, have you tried 8 o'clock coffee? They were the top rated in taste in Consumer reports AND they are cheap! Plus on the inside of every bag, there is $1 off coupon :) The red bag is the one that won the taste test. You can get it at Wal-Mart!

Lol! One of my favorite quotes: "Life is too short to drink bad coffee." Words to live by!

It has to do with the quality of the original bean, where it was grown, and how dark they choose to roast it. Also packaging can have some affect on taste, although now most companies have some sort of air tight packaging. Do you miss your coffee shop days?
