SCORE!

After three kids it has finally happened.  I scored and I scored BIG time!  The Professor has spoken his first word!  The Genius' first word was "backpack" (told ya she is a genius!).  The Hippie's first word was "uh-oh" (how cute is that?).  But.....the Professor's first word....."mama"! AWESOME!!! Our whole family was in the room so I have multiple witnesses and he said it several times and has said it several more times.  I so appreciative of the timing because today at lunch he used his first sign and said his second word, "milk".  I only made first word status by about 24 hours. Phew!  But I did it!!!!!  That little boys knows how to make his mommy melt =)

Still Can't Believe It

Today the Hippie made a whole bunch of people cry.  At least 20 people were crying.  Mostly grownups.  Wanna know why?  Well, our van is broken.  Still in the shop.  But I walked the 2+ miles to the school and surprised her by being at the dress rehearsal for the 1st grade musical.  She was so pleased and happy to see me there...even though I was sweaty and tired.  The musical was really cute and she did a great job!  Then it was over and every first grader went to the microphone to introduce themselves and say what they wanted to be when they grow up.  My stomach was in knots.  I knew hers had to be.  She approached the microphone and in a loud clean voice says, "My name is ____ _____ and I am going to be an artist when I grow up."  Everyone was crying.  Afterwards all these teachers came up to hug me.  Her teacher and I met in the hall and we were crying.  I could hardly speak.  It was unbelievable and EXACTLY what I needed to see and hear. 

Nothing Much to Say

I feel bad that I have not posted in several days. I love when I can have something daily.  I do enjoy blogging.  Lately things have been incredibly busy.  My husband has started back to school and is working on his Master's degree (MBA)!  That takes up most of his time.  So homework and the majority of the house stuff is falling to me.  Plus we are in the midst of prepping for another garage sale.  The girls have their activities.  Plus now our van is in the shop with engine troubles.  Since I really find myself feeling discouraged lately, I thought I would post a few pics to brighten up all our days!  (please excuse the quality, these came off my phone)

Extreme Coupons

Wow! I watched that new show called "Extreme Couponing"  Has anyone else seen it?  I found it so interesting and strangely inspiring.  I especially liked the one where the guy got something like 500 boxes of cereal for free and donated them to a food pantry.  We are now past the one year mark of being unemployed and things are really tight.  So I am left wondering...how does someone start REALLY doing coupons like the people on the show?  I mean, I clip and use my online fliers and digital coupons, but the most I have EVER saved was 46%.  These people are saving like 98%! What do they do? How do you start? 
Any thoughts on this?

The Hippie Cooks

Tonight was the Hippie's night to be in the kitchen with mommy.  She chose bacon, eggs, toast and chocolate chip scones.

I had a great time!  I LOVE our new tradition.  The Genius is already excited about getting her turn next week.

Recently the Professor has wanted to be ON the couch with his sisters.  He has no interest in their morning cartoons, but he has to be exactly where they are.  Don't they look cute?

I cannot believe I went so many days without posting.  I have been SO busy lately!  Anyways, here is the latest work by our SIX YEAR OLD , the Hippie.  Prepare to be amazed.  I think she is amazing.  I actually got chills when I saw this...done 100% by her, but with instructions from her great, great teacher!

Yeah. She is talented.  I realize I am bragging, but I am her mommy and I claim my full Mommy rights to brag on her. LOL!
