I don’t know about you, but I just love Christian fictional
books centered around the Amish.
Typically the books are predictable.
But they are usually innocent, with great characters and just a good
read. When looking for a good book to
read this summer, I found the book “Brush of Angel’s Wings” by Ruth Reid. I have never read a Ruth Reid book
before. But I can say that I am very
glad to have discovered her. In my
opinion this was not your cookie cutter Christian Fiction Amish book. It was different than others I have read and
I thoroughly enjoyed it and enjoyed passing It onto my mom to read as
well. The book centers on Rachel and
Jordan. In Rachel’s family she is the
last unmarried sister. Jordan begins to
step into her life but she doesn’t want anything to do with him. Honestly, he is none too keen about her
either. God has a different plan in mind
for these two though, as the book reveals.
Overall, great characters, great writing and a must have for your summer
reading list!

The Big Siblings
It is hard to know how the Professor will react to being a big brother, but the girls sure are excited! They were so excited to tell their friends and teachers today at school. The Genius really wants another brother and the Hippie really wants a little sister. However, we all agree we just want a healthy baby! Boy or girl. We will definitely be finding out the gender with this baby. I was leaning towards a surprise but with our loss in October, we both just need to know the gender this time. I go on May 2nd for my first ultrasound. I am excited and very scared as well. This pregnancy is going pretty well so far. I went in and had labs done last Saturday and Monday. My betas went from 121 to 347 in just under 48 hours. But my progesterone was low. I am taking a medication to help with that so I had to go today for more labs. This time my progesterone level was very normal. The doctor wants me to stay on the medicine and then I go back in next Monday for more lab work. As you can imagine all of us pray daily for this little baby.

Yep. We're POSITIVE! Making their appearance around Dec. 22, 2012 sweet baby 4!!!! The Professor will be a big brother!!!! We could not be more excited and appreciate all your prayers!!!!!!

What a Ride!
My husband bought an older car when he became a Postal Carrier. He got a 1999 Toyota Corolla. The other day he picked the girls up from piano. It was an unseasonably warm day and he had his window rolled down. The girls asked him to roll theirs down and he told them they had to. He looked back and they were trying to open the door. He explained how to turn the handle to roll it down. The girls flipped! I guess they spent the rest of the ride exclaiming how cool it was and WHY don't they make ALL windows this way. LOL! If they only knew.....

Heart of Gold
I was recently able to review the book Heart of Gold written by one of my favorite authors, Robin Lee Hatcher!
The leading lady in this fictional book is Shannon. She travels with her father to Idaho. They are formerly from Virginia and Shannon is not at all sure that she should even be in Idaho. She misses Virginia and all her friends that she left behind. Shannon is unsure what purpose she will have in Idaho. Then she meets Matthew. His sister is a widow with a young son and she is sick. Since Shannon had experience nursing soldiers she steps in to help care for the woman. An unlikely friendship is started and Shannon begins to feel drawn to Matthew as well.
If you want to know more than that read the book. This one makes the list for a great summer read! Especially if you are going on a vacation. Pick up this book!

Sick of Sickness
This week all 3 of our kids ended up being sick. Really does not make for fun times. I sure hope they are feeling better tomorrow because we are supposed to go house hunting. I believe there are 9 houses for us to see. To recap the week...
The Professor had an ear infection and was put on antibiotics and a decongestant.
The Genius had an ear infection and was also put on antibiotics.
The Hippie woke the other day with a 103 fever. Took HER in and she had a viral infection with a horrid cough and she was given some cough medicine.
Here's a healthy weekend!
