Shop til it Drops

While we were away for Labor Day, the Genius noticed that another tooth was REALLY getting loose. I told her to keep at it and it would come out pretty quickly. Within hours it seemed it was hanging on by a thread. She would breathe and it would move. But it was still there. On our way home Monday, we were shopping at IKEA and Gampy went to tickle her. She said, "My tooth!" Right there in the middle of Ikea she lost her 2nd tooth. Now....if you remember, she lost her 1st tooth in Wal-Mart. I am sensing a trend! =)

School Stuff

We started our extra classes today. They will meet every other week for 3 hours. Today went really well! Both girls had fun and were excited about what they were doing and learning. I think it will be real good for them. During the 3 hours, I have to help in 2 classes and in the other hour I get to hang out in the "Mom Room". It was pretty cool! On the way home the girls wanted to take turns creating similies! All in all it was a pretty rockin' day here!
We got more things settled into our house and it starting to really come together. I am just so ready to have everything there and quit feeling like we are in two homes. Oh wait, we ARE in two homes! LOL!

Future Weather Girl

We spent our labor day weekend with my parents celebrating my and my mom's respective birthdays. It was SO much fun! For my mom's birthday, us and my dad, got her an outdoor patio set. They had just bought a fire pit as well and we spent each evening with the TV off and a fire blazing in the fire pit. It was just amazingly relaxing. We went to a dairy farm, ate WAY too much food and enjoyed our time. Our girls get SO excited to be around Nana and Gampy that most mornings they are literally not capable of staying in their beds past 5:30 a.m. We strictly told them that the first number on their clocks HAD to be a 6. About 5:21 the first day, the Hippie came into our room and sweetly said, "Our clock is broken because the first number is just staying a 5". We told her to go back and on the dot of 6 they were downstairs. When we looked in their room, they had pulled a rocking chair and books over RIGHT in front of the clock. Too cute. This morning my mom said the Genius came downstairs and said, "Well it is 52 outside, the ground is wet but the air quality is good." I guess SOMEONE was listening to the radio!!! We were rolling!
For my birthday I got a much needed baking sheet, 2 new pots, my very own fire pit, a candle, some lotion and new sunglasses. But, then my husband said, "Wait. I think I forgot one." Guess what I got???? Brand new BEAUTIFUL opal earrings!! I love them and want to sleep in them I love them so much! It was the best birthday I have had in years!!!!!

Mosquitoes and a Steal!

Our poor girls were attacked by mosquitoes! They are covered in bites. I think the Hippie has 24 on ONE leg plus more all over. I guess we have mosquitoes at our new place. If you have advice on getting rid of them...please share! We had just studied mosquitoes in school the other day. The Hippie said, "So, mosquitoes stick that long thing into our skin and suck out our blood and all they give us is an itchy lump? Well, why did God make them?" We actually googled it and gave her an answer, but it sure did not help her itchies.
On a MUCH happier note, we decided to do school in the evening and hit some garage sales this morning. We came across this beautiful house in the country and they had a lot of things for sale. But, they had this big, beautiful patio set. It was a big rectangular table with a glass top, a huge umbrella and 6 comfy chairs with cushions. We estimated that this set would normally be around $700 new. We paid..... $125! It looks so great out on our new deck and once we come up with a solution for the mosquitoes...we plan on being out there all the time!

You know...

You know that home-school is working for you and your kids when.... you ask your first grader to write two sentences that use adverbs to describe how some animals might have gone onto the ark. She writes (with some spelling help =) ) "The dinosaurs tromped. The cheetahs raced each other."

Crazy Hair

Awanas had a theme night of crazy hair! =)
We are getting our new house somewhat settled. I took a few pics. The one of the park is the view from our front yard! That is how close we are to a city park!
Overheard in the toy room.... "Ok, here are the rules. You listen to your teacher." Hippie-"You stay in your seat" Genius - "You do your work." Hippie - "You always share." Genius - "Oh and we never kill each other." Hippie - "Why" =)

A test

This is how you KNOW you made a good dinner. Tonight I was beat from a full day and when it came time for dinner I decided to make it easy. Whole Wheat waffles. I put out butter, fresh homemade jam, syrup and chocolate chips. I ate one and each girl and my husband had 2. When the Genius was covered in sticky syrup and eating the last few bites of her SECOND waffle she said, "Just think, when we finish we can all lick our plates!" =)
